TAnAT

TAnAT is the Amsterdam-based DJ project of Mik Tanate, known for rhythm-driven, percussion-heavy club sets that balance raw energy with an unmistakable sense of groove. Active since 2016, he has developed a sound built on rolling drums, sharp rhythmic structures, and deep, bass-driven intensity—music designed to move both body and mind.

With roots in hip-hop and R&B, TAnAT brings a strong sense of swing, groove, and musicality into his sets. These influences remain a defining layer in his sound, blending seamlessly with club-focused rhythms and percussive elements. The result is a unique balance: hard-hitting and energetic, yet warm, fluid, and deeply rooted in groove—allowing him to connect with a wide range of audiences while keeping the dancefloor locked in.

After graduating from the Herman Brood Academie, he refined a style that merges technical precision with an intuitive approach behind the decks. His sets flow effortlessly between broken rhythms, warm textures, and high-impact transitions. Rather than relying on fixed structures, he reads the room and shapes the energy in real time, creating a constant interplay between tension and release.

His performances have taken him to a wide range of venues, including Melkweg, Club Air, NYX, PAARD, PIP, and Multipla, where he has built a reputation for delivering dynamic and adaptable sets. Beyond clubs, he has appeared at events and festivals such as Red Bull Soundclash, Amsterdam Open Air, CC Sounds by NOIR, BREEK, and FEVUR, bringing his distinct sound to diverse audiences and stages. His presence also extends into radio, with appearances on platforms like Radio TNP and Open Source Radio, and as a radio DJ at Radio Oras, where he showcases a broader side of his musical identity.

Along the way, TAnAT has shared stages with artists including Oldboy, Wantigga, Franky Sticks, T.NO, and Tera Kòrá, further shaping his perspective and contributing to his place within Amsterdam’s evolving music scene.
