RICH AND BLEAK

RICH AND BLEAK is a 22-year-old Chilean DJ and producer, known off stage as Martín Bari. Based in Santiago de Chile, he develops his identity within electronic music mainly through Tech House, combining groove, punchy basses and a selection built to dance.

Born with anophthalmia in his right eye, Martín grew up perceiving the world literally from a different perspective. Far from becoming a limitation within his identity, this condition ended up influencing his relationship with image, perception and contrasts, concepts that today are part of the language that surrounds RICH AND BLEAK.

The name itself is born from that way of understanding opposites. RICH and BLEAK represent two extremes of the same person: the elegant and the raw, the ambition and the uncertainty, the euphoria of a full dance floor and the moments that exist when the lights go out. They are not two separate characters, but two faces that need to coexist to tell the full story.

Musically, that duality allows him to move between different intensities. Although House and Tech House make up the core of their sound, RICH AND BLEAK also explores darker territories coming from Techno, using tension, rhythm and energy shifts as tools to build dynamic sets and maintain a constant connection with the audience.

His universe doesn't end in the booth either. Music, photography, fashion, visual direction and audiovisual content are part of the language of RICH AND BLEAK, using his own life and experiences as raw material to build a recognizable identity beyond a musical genre.

As a producer, that same search translates into original music, collaborations and releases where he continues to experiment with his sound without pursuing a fixed formula. As a DJ, his growth has led him to perform in different spaces and cities in Chile, developing a career that continues to expand from Santiago.

At 22 years old, RICH AND BLEAK is building a story that is still in its first pages. One where even what could once make him see the world differently ended up becoming part of the way he decided to show it to others.

RICH AND BLEAK is not born of choosing between two extremes. It is born of existing in both.
