Origins and background

Kimé is born and raised in Brussels, a city with a deep multiculturalism. He is definitely in love with Brussels, as he says, « it’s for sure not the most beautiful city in the world, but probably one of the most original, various, and poetic city ». Representing his hometown on a global scale is a part of his artistic mission. Living in a city like Brussels, Kimé first started to mix hiphop and urban songs — genres he grew up with— before diving into house and electronic music as a deeper form of expression and expansive way to connect with people. These urban influences are still visible throughout various remixes, IDs and aesthetics. He started mixing in his bedroom during Covid and stepped up from a bedroom DJ to his first event with a renowned Brussels collective Balagan world. Since then, Kimé has played numerous shows, earned media attention, and secured multiple residences. Inspired by names like Black Coffee, Chriss stussy, Mau P, Adriatique, Sasson and Keinemusik, as well as the bold aesthetics of hiphop icons like Drake, Hamza, and Damso. He brings a refined and powerful energy to the dance floor. His music speaks through atmosphere and movement, combining melodic tension with tribal beats and hypnotic grooves. Whether he is performing in intimate clubs or open-air settings, Kimé crafts unique moments and a journey deep in emotions.
