Ferry NP is a DJ from Barcelona whose identity is built on curiosity, underground culture and a constant exploration of electronic music. His proposal is not based on a single genre, but on years of discovering scenes, artists and different ways of understanding the dance floor.
His relationship with DJing began at the age of 15, when he acquired his first controller and began to experiment with mixing. At the same time, he began to frequent clubs and electronic festivals, until he came into contact with the rave scene. It is in these spaces where he consolidates a large part of his identity and his way of understanding the underground: not as a specific style, but as an attitude linked to creative freedom, independence and the search for new sounds.
Since then, travelling and discovering music has become a constant. Clubs, raves and festivals from different countries progressively expand their sound imaginary. Festivals such as Dekmantel, Bangface, Sónar or MIRA are of special importance on this journey, very different experiences from each other that contribute to broadening their perception of electronic music and reinforcing their interest in proposals capable of crossing genres, formats and scenes.
Within this evolution, UK culture acquires a fundamental weight. Its tradition around breakbeat and bass music awakens a strong interest in broken rhythms, deep basses and structures that escape the conventional 4x4 pattern. This influence is mixed with two essential pillars of its career: house and techno. From house it especially picks up groove and movement; from techno, tension, repetition and energy.
From this crossover a good part of their current sound identity is born. Their sessions can travel between house, techno, breaks, electro, acid, bass and jungle, always looking for the points of connection between different languages. Rather than accumulating styles, Ferry NP uses a bass line, a percussion, a texture or a certain energy to move from one to another while maintaining the coherence of the set.
One of its characteristic features is precisely the coexistence between 4x4 and broken rhythms. Their sessions can start from more groovy terrain and evolve towards breakbeat, electro or bass structures, later recovering straight patterns or increasing the intensity until approaching jungle. The tempo and rhythmic changes thus become tools to transform the sensation of movement and build a narrative in constant evolution.
Groove, bass and percussion work as the main common threads. Their selection prioritizes tracks with physical presence, forceful bass lines and rhythmic structures with personality. The purpose is to build dynamic sessions with a long journey, capable of surprising without losing the connection with the dance floor.
This search also extends beyond his individual project. Ferry NP is a member of Tic Tac Toe, a three-member audiovisual project that combines DJing, machines and synchronized visuals. His proposal moves mainly between techno, breaks and acid, transferring part of these concerns towards a hybrid format between the DJ set and the live performance. The project has been presented at spaces and events such as Ware Club, Molí Xic, Oh My Goach in France and AMEBA Sant Antoni in Barcelona.
He is also part of NUA, an association and cultural collective born in Esparreguera with the aim of generating spaces around electronic music and independent culture. A facet that connects his experience as a DJ with the production of events and with his interest in actively contributing to the creation of a scene.
Ferry NP understands its identity as something in permanent evolution. Years of clubs, raves, festivals, trips and musical research have built its own language, but deliberately open. More than being defined by a genre, their sound is born from the connections between them: groove, bass, broken rhythms and progression at the service of a clear purpose: to generate movement, surprise and keep the dance floor alive.
