Mendax is an electronic music project born in Mexico City from a practice that combines music production, DJ, film, photography, design, philosophy and skate culture. Rather than building an identity solely around the club, the project understands music as part of a complete audiovisual language: rhythm, image, body, concept and space.

Their sound moves between hardgroove, hard house, trance, melodic techno and different forms of accelerated electronica. He regularly works with high tempos, repetitive percussion, direct basses, luminous synthesizers, and vocals that retain an emotional charge, even within the most intense moments of the set. In his music, the aggressiveness of rave, nostalgia for the electronica of the late nineties and early two thousand coexists, and a melancholic sensibility that prevents the energy from becoming only functional.

Mendax develops its presentations from Ableton Live, using the live set format as an open tool to manipulate structures, effects, voices, and transitions in real time. This allows you to build less linear sessions, where tracks can morph, extend, or collide with each other according to the track's response. The objective is not to reproduce a closed repertoire, but to generate a changing experience, physical and emotional.

The identity of the project is also crossed by its training in philosophy and cinema. From this arises an interest in repetition, desire, tension, excess and the transformation of the body within dance music. Visually, Mendax takes up codes from skateboarding, industrial techno, science fiction, Y2K design and underground graphics to build a raw, futuristic and deliberately unstable universe.

Their proposal seeks to occupy the space between the DJ set, the electronic concert and the audiovisual experience: fast, sensitive and forceful music, designed for clubs and parties as well as for galleries, festivals and cultural spaces.
