DJ Charly Tov Latin Genres Crossover | Bogota, Colombia My name is DJ Charly Tov and I have been building a career based on passion, energy and a deep connection with the public for 14 years. Born and raised in Bogotá, my history with music began at a very young age in the classrooms of school. I was fascinated by taking control of the school station during recess, programming songs and observing how different rhythms managed to move the energy of my classmates. Those first experiments were the spark that ignited a passion that today is my way of life. Influences that marked my path Growing up listening to Colombian urban artists like J Balvin, Reykon, DJ Pope, and DJ Tornall was fundamental. Their ability to connect with people and bring local sound to the world inspired me deeply. Over time I broadened my horizons to the greats of the genre: Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Zion & Lennox, and also to international figures such as Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Shaggy, and Kafu Banton. This mix of urban, Latin, and danceable flavors became the foundation of my crossover style. From self-taught to professional At first, I learned empirically, watching tutorials on YouTube and practicing tirelessly. When I finished school, in 2015 I decided to take the professional leap: I started studying and polishing my technical skills, handling professional equipment and mixing techniques. That constant training process allowed me to go from being a young enthusiast to a DJ with his own identity. Career and outstanding experiences My career has been marked by important residencies and events that have consolidated my name on the Colombian scene. Between 2016 and 2017 I had a key stage in Villavicencio, where I collaborated with the radio station La Mega. There I participated in multiple massive events with artists such as Buxxi, Ronald El Killa, Andy Rivera, Piso 21 and Mike Bahía. That experience allowed me to understand how music works on a large scale and how to connect with diverse audiences. Back in Bogotá, I stopped by 828 Club, where I organized and participated in events with Golpe a Golpe and La Factoría. However, one of the most memorable moments of my career occurred at Oktoberfest 2016 and 2018. While most DJs opted for electronic and commercial urban sets, I decided to take a chance: I mixed Colombian folklore with Latin and urban rhythms. The reaction of the audience was crazy. My set extended from an hour to a full two hours, and that night became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Subsequently, I had an outstanding residency at Dolce Vita Disco Modelia (2018-2023), where I consolidated my musical proposal for several years. Currently, my most important residency is at La Chula (2023-2026), a space where I have had the opportunity to play at high-level business events for brands such as Lenovo and Adidas, different ministries of the National Government, and share the stage with artists such as Pipe Peláez, Andrés Franco, Marbelle, Rayo y Toby, Yeison Jiménez and Alex Campos. My philosophy as a DJ What I enjoy most about this profession is connecting with people. It's not just about playing music, it's about reading the track, playing with the emotions of the audience and creating moments that generate memories. My energy, my ability to interpret the atmosphere and my versatility allow me to move fluidly from a classic merengue or bachata to a powerful reggaeton, dancehall or afrobeat, always keeping the track alive and exciting. Each set is a new opportunity to tell a story through music. I'm passionate about seeing how a well-thought-out transition can change the mood of hundreds of people, how a song at the right time can bring generations together, and how good vibes are contagious on the dance floor. Digital presence In addition to my work in clubs and events, I keep my digital presence active with video sets on YouTube under the @charlytov1304 channel, where I share the best of my sound so that followers from all over the country and the world can enjoy my proposal. Looking to the future After 14 years in the scene, I still have the same hunger to grow. My goal is to continue expanding my career, explore new musical fusions, produce my own tracks and take Latin crossover to more national and international stages. I want to continue being that DJ who not only makes people dance, but leaves an emotional mark on each person who lives the experience.
