Elmer GC. - Puerto Ángel / Zipolite, Oaxaca. 10+ años como DJ, 5+ años de Beach Club. Resident @ Nhoa Nhoa. Ex-Resident @ Hotel Nude 3 años.OFFICIAL LONG BIO - ELMER GC. [ENGLISH]I'm from Puerto Angel, Oaxaca. Born into musicians on both sides of my family. My grandfather played sax, my uncles have their own bands, and on the coast I grew up listening to what we listen to here: charangas, cumbias, and especially merequetengue - a very percussive local style with congas, timbales, snare, acoustic bass, guitars and sax. Pure rhythm that hits your feet first. That stayed with me and today I adapt it to my Beach Club sound.I've been a DJ for over 10 years. I've played every format, from cassettes to the USBs I use today. But I've been in Beach Clubs for over 5 years. I was resident for 3 years at Hotel Nude Zipolite, where I developed my signature Afro House sound, testing night after night what makes people stay on the sand instead of going to sleep.Today I'm weekend resident at Nhoa Nhoa Beach Club and I play several other spots on the coast. My sound is Golden Hour Afro House - 118 to 124 BPM. It's the merequetengue I grew up with, taken to the beach club: organic percussion, deep bass, clean guitars and African vocals. I understand percussion because I grew up inside it.I specialize in long, clean, groovy mixes. 32-beat transitions where one track breathes inside another. No harsh cuts. My job is that you don't feel when I changed the track, you just suddenly realize you're dancing harder. I build my sets as a 3-hour journey: deep & melodic to start, percussive Afro for Aperol hour, and Latin House to leave the dancefloor full. And I'm in constant learning mode. Now I'm learning to produce my own songs, turning all that background of charanga and merequetengue into original Afro House tracks. Sampling what I heard as a kid in Puerto Angel and what I play today at Nhoa.I'm not a festival DJ with smoke and drops. I'm a beach, coast, sunset DJ. If you want your crowd to stay 3 hours longer because the music has them locked in the best part of the day, let's talk.Elmer GC. - Puerto Angel / Zipolite, Oaxaca. 10+ years as DJ, 5+ years Beach Club.
