Laura Martínez, aka Bluekim, has been a professional DJ since 1998 and is widely regarded as one of the pioneering female DJs in Colombia. With over two decades of experience, she has become a key figure in the Colombian electronic music scene. Not only has she performed at countless stages locally and internationally, but she has also played a significant role in the production of major electronic music events in Bogotá, music conferences and mentoring emerging DJs. Her style is defined by daring blends and seamless fusions between genres, moving fluidly from the relentless force of techno to the cold, mechanical melodies of EBM and the raw energy of industrial. With a refined ear and technical precision, she creates sets that are both powerful and immersive, where hypnotic rhythms collide with dark atmospheres in perfect harmony. Her ability to craft smooth yet bold transitions, layering textures and building tension, makes every performance a unique journey that captures both the body and the mind. Beyond her stage presence, Bluekim has made substantial contributions to the growth of Colombia’s electronic music underground scene and techno culture. She has earned significant recognition in international DJ competitions and served as judge and curator for local Dj contests. She has been part of influential local artist crews, resident DJ at some of the Bogota's most iconic clubs, and a regular at major electronic music events. Her talent has taken her across all the major cities of Colombia, as well as to international stages, performing at renowned parties and festivals in Europe, United States, Australia and Latin America, where she has connected with diverse audiences, leaving her mark on the global scene. Outside of clubs and festivals, she brings her expertise to venues such as bars, fashion stores, restaurants and private events, playing a variety of genres from 80s and 90s hits to disco to indie dance, seamlessly adapting to the mood and energy of the setting. With her refined musical taste and deep understanding of audience dynamics, she creates unique soundscapes that elevate both casual and upscale environments, making her a multifaceted DJ beyond the dance floor. In 2024, Bluekim launched Somnia, her own event brand dedicated to organizing cutting-edge electronic music events in multiple cities across Colombia. So far, her brand Somnia has successfully produced several events, showcasing a diverse lineup of both local talent and internationally acclaimed artists like Ancient Methods, Schwefelgelb and Unhuman + Petra Flurr. Through these events, she has played a vital role in strengthening the underground techno scene, providing a platform for original artistic expressions.
