Materia Prima

Born in Douala, Cameroon and based in Madrid, Spain, Materia Prima is an Afro House artist, producer and creative director building one of the most distinctive storytelling projects in contemporary electronic music.

Materia Prima combines Afro House with cinematic storytelling, travel, photography and African heritage to create experiences that go far beyond the DJ booth.

Every release represents a chapter of a larger journey.

From the spiritual energy of Freedom Ritual, to the emotional message of Loyalty, the cinematic atmosphere of Delayed Flight, and the feeling of rediscovering belonging in Home Again, his music is inspired by real experiences rather than trends.

His artistic vision has expanded through collaborations and performances across countries including Cameroon, Morocco, Portugal ,Thailand and Canada, while continuing to grow his international network within the Afro House community.

Beyond music, Materia Prima creates original visual content, photography and creative direction around every project. Thanks to his background in Information Technology, he also designed his own digital platform, www.materiap.com, reinforcing his belief that every detail—from music to visuals and technology—should contribute to building a timeless brand.

The next evolution of his journey is The African Cowboy, a long-term creative universe inspired by freedom, exploration and African identity. More than an album, it is the foundation of a multidisciplinary project where music, fashion, travel and storytelling come together to connect cultures.

Materia Prima doesn't simply perform Afro House.

He tells stories that travel.
