Luisen

Luisen — DJ, producer, remixer and founder of DePoniente Records (2016). He began his career in 1988 at the age of 16 as a turntablist, becoming one of the pioneers of the Spanish DJ scene. In 1990, at just 18, he won the first national DJ award, which marked the start of a career that has taken him around the world, including being one of the official DJs on the Café del Mar World Tour (2018). He was also among the first DJs in Spain to produce his own music, launching the Teknika project in 1991 on the legendary label Megabeat, a cornerstone of the famous “Sonido de Valencia.” This contribution is highlighted in Pascal Ibiza’s book Techno Camina Conmigo: Bandas y productores que lideraron la electrónica nacional (89–93). Over the years, he has released productions and remixes under different aliases on some of the most prestigious labels worldwide, including CBS, EMI, Sony Music, Purple Music, Nervous Records, and Midnight Riot, to name a few. Today, under his current alias Moogy Bee, he is a key figure in the international Nu Disco scene and a regular presence in the Traxsource Top 100. He ranked #87 as Luisen and #62 as Moogy Bee in the 2020 Top Nu Disco Artists chart — making him the only Spanish producer featured.
