Nigressa

Nigressa (previously known as Supreme Nigress) is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and DJ from Brooklyn, New York. Informed by their pre-professional dance experience and studies of black thought globally, Nigressa describes their style of curation as "afrointerpolative " highlighting the call and response format and rhythm layering that connect threads between distinctively black sonic structures and the urge to dance. Led by their Afro-rican roots, Nigressa blends deep house, afro-ryhthms/riddims with more modern club and electronica hits, engaging audiences in soul driven sets that illuminate the complex ways blackness is made and preserved on the dance floor.
