YLiB

YLiB, a collision of worlds across 2 decades of electronic music...

YLiB plys his trade as a Afro House and Afro Tech DJ/Producer whose musical journey spans more than two decades, evolving from the pounding energy of Australia's early hard dance scene to the deep, soulful rhythms of today's global Afro movement.

Originally making his mark in the early 2000s, YLiB built a strong reputation throughout Brisbane and Eastern Australia as a hard dance and hard tech DJ. During the golden era of Australian rave culture, he performed at some of the region's biggest events, sharing stages and supporting many of the world's most respected hard dance artists. His high-energy sets and technical mixing skills earned him recognition amongst promoters, artists, and dedicated ravers alike.

Under his hard dance and hard tech production alias Digital Fauna, YLiB began turning his attention to the studio, releasing music on respected UK labels Digitally Infected and Digital Rehab. One of his standout achievements came in 2012 when his track Machine climbed to #3 on the Trackitdown.net Hard Dance Charts, cementing his place as a producer capable of delivering both dancefloor impact and technical excellence.

Following years immersed in music, YLiB stepped away from the scene around 2014 to focus on family life. While the decks and studio took a back seat, the passion for music never disappeared.

A decade later, in 2024, a chance reconnection with friends involved in the emerging 3-Step and Afro Beats movement reignited the spark. Drawn to the infectious rhythms, emotional depth, and cultural richness of Afro-inspired electronic music, YLiB quickly fell in love with the sound. Inspired by its ability to connect people through movement, energy, and storytelling, he began exploring ways to blend his decades of dance music experience with this exciting new direction.

The result was a natural progression into the worlds of Afro House and Afro Tech. Since returning to music, YLiB has been working tirelessly in the studio, crafting a signature sound that fuses hypnotic Afro grooves, powerful percussion, melodic textures, and the driving energy that defined his earlier years behind the decks. His productions and performances draw from a lifetime immersed in electronic music while embracing the warmth, soul, and emotion that make Afro House such a powerful global movement.

Whether performing at Afro Moyo, Afro Moyo Sunsets Noosa, Rhythm Republik – An Afternoon of Afro, or wherever the next dancefloor calls, YLiB delivers far more than a DJ set - he creates an experience. His performances are built on connection, uplifting energy, and carefully curated musical journeys designed to move both body and soul.

Expect infectious rhythms. Expect driving grooves. Expect moments of euphoria. Most of all, expect good vibes. For YLiB, music has always been about bringing people together—and every set is an invitation to lose yourself in the rhythm, embrace the moment, and share in the energy of the dancefloor.
