Full bio

WHIMC brings a little piece of German techno to Auckland, blending hypnotic grooves, melodic trance, raw and deep techno into sets that are as dreamy and playful as they are driving and unpredictable.

Techno has been part of WHIMC's life for longer than she realised. Growing up, she would hear it coming from her brother's bedroom, absorbing sounds from a scene he was already part of in Nuremberg, including clubs like Rakete. Although she never quite saw herself as part of that world, she was always fascinated by the club culture, the energy between people and the feeling of connection on a dancefloor. She was curious about this world long before she found her own way into it.

A few years ago, that curiosity turned into something much more personal. Almost by chance, she found herself at a festival watching I Hate Models for the first time. What began as a spontaneous experience quickly became a turning point, opening the door to a world she had been curious about for years. Since then, techno has become a constant source of inspiration, exploration and personal growth. After experimenting with different genres and directions, WHIMC gradually found herself drawn to the deeper, more emotional and hypnotic sides of the scene, particularly melodic trance, hard groove, raw and deep techno.

For WHIMC, music has always been about more than just dancing. It's about getting lost in sound, letting go of everything outside the dancefloor and reconnecting with yourself. She's drawn to music that takes you somewhere unexpected — that invites you to surrender, to feel, to fall, to float and simply exist in the moment. This is the feeling she aims to create with her own sets: an atmosphere where people can switch off from the outside world, turn inward and allow themselves to be completely carried away by the music. Whether through hypnotic melodies, rolling grooves or bouncy, high-energy rhythms, her sound moves between dreamy and driving, always leaving room for spontaneity and emotional connection.

Having moved to Auckland in February, WHIMC is now bringing her German techno roots into the city's emerging electronic music scene. While still finding her feet locally, she's already found a community that has played an important role in her journey. Before making her debut in September at a Kitty Tamaki event at Neck of the Woods, she spent time behind the decks at open-deck Bunker sessions at ilBrutto, learning, experimenting and developing her sound. The encouragement and belief of Auckland's local DJ community have been a huge part of that process, helping her build confidence and trust in her own musical direction — even in moments when she struggled to believe in herself.

Now, WHIMC is ready to take her sound beyond the practice sessions and into the wider scene, bringing her German roots, curiosity and love for immersive dancefloor experiences to new audiences. With a sound that moves between hypnotic depth, melodic emotion and playful energy, she isn't interested in simply chasing the peak — she's interested in the journey that gets you there.

For WHIMC, the most meaningful moments happen when the music takes over, the outside world fades away and everyone on the dancefloor finds their own way to get beautifully lost.

She's excited for what's ahead, the connections still to come and everyone who finds a little piece of themselves in her sound.
