Things (NL) born in 1995
For as long as he can remember, music has been the thread running through his life. It started small with an electric drum kit, hours on Guitar Hero, Ben Liebrand’s year-end mixes in the car with his dad. At twelve, his mom gave him his first Hercules DJ controller, and something clicked. The world of music opened up a little more.
At fifteen, a third-place finish at Kunstbende Drenthe felt like a quiet confirmation: this is the path. Music has always been his way of expressing what words sometimes can’t, something personal, shared with whoever’s listening.
These days he goes by Things (NL), a Groningen-based DJ with a clear sense of what he’s after. Low-end movement, gritty textures, multi-deck layering. His sets are built around tension and release, deep grooves that keep dancefloors locked in and moving forward. Drawing from artists like DVS1, Tommy Four Seven and Dax J, he moves fluidly across genre lines while staying true to a sound that’s distinctly his own.
Currently working on his debut EP, Things is crafting music that holds its own in both intimate spaces and on larger floors. Still growing, but with a strong sense of direction and an honest love for where the music takes him.
