Whether behind the decks or performing live, Paris-based techno producer, live act and DJ Substencia delivers a physical and uncompromising approach to the dancefloor. Classically trained in piano and cello, she distills over a decade of sonic exploration into a visceral techno framework, weaving together baroque emotion, liturgical darkness, destructive rhythms and raw devotion, between dark beauty and organized chaos. After several releases (EPs, remixes, VA) on Subverted, TJALK, Intervision, Kallkallan and Mutant Modality, 2025 has marked the release of her debut vinyl album on US label Venaeform — a dense, introspective work diving deep into melancholy. She has performed across France and Europe, including at Tresor, Moog, Mia Mao, for events such as Subverted (Berlin), Mutant Modality (Brussels) and Lycanthropie (Manu le Malin's events series). Driven by a heightened musical sensibility, she also extends her universe beyond the dancefloor through collaborations on soundtracks and circus performances. With her duo Kabocha alongside Pole Ka, she pushes further into the territory of tragic post-rave and haunted noise.
