Somos Dos is a DJ duo from Monterrey, Mexico, formed by Sebastián Rodríguez and Mauricio González. After individually beginning their journeys behind the decks in 2023, the two officially joined forces as Somos Dos in December 2025, turning their different musical tastes into the foundation of the project.
At the heart of Somos Dos are two distinct perspectives. Mauricio gravitates toward melodic and organic sounds, incorporating pianos, guitars, afro and melodic influences, disco, and he also enjoys playing commercial music that gets the crowd singing and dancing. Sebastián brings a groove-driven approach rooted in tech house, afro house, Latin house, Commercial music and Spanish language influences. Their shared appreciation for groove and disco creates the meeting point between both styles, allowing them to move naturally across genres while maintaining a cohesive identity.
Rather than approaching every room with the same formula, Somos Dos builds its sets around the people in front of them. Reading the crowd, adapting to its energy and combining each member’s selections are central to their approach. The goal is simple: wherever in the world they play, they want the audience to leave feeling that the music belonged to that night.
Since forming the project, Somos Dos has performed at venues including Rava, Panorama, Top, and are currently residents in The Normal in Monterrey. The duo is now entering its next chapter, with an unreleased remix of Don Toliver’s “E85” on the way and an increasing focus on original music.
For Sebastián and Mauricio, Somos Dos is being built beyond the DJ booth. Their vision is to develop a global project where music, personality and community coexist, releasing records, touring internationally and building an audience that comes not only for the party, but specifically to see Somos Dos.
