Sir Qaf is a DJ, music curator, sound enthusiast, and emerging music producer based in Portugal. Every set he plays is specific, intentional, and alive, built not from a tracklist, but from a state of mind.
The name carries meaning. Qaf, قاف, is an Arabic letter that opens some of the most important words related to music in the language, and marks the identity of the community he comes from. It is not a stage persona. It is an origin point.
Before the decks, there were eight years in tech, including time as a tech leader, and a Master's dissertation on Music in Branding Strategies, exploring how sound shapes identity, perception, and human connection. He stepped away from that world to fully pursue sound. The precision stayed.
As a DJ, Qaf moves through deep house, afro house, jazz house, and melodic house, with a gravitational pull toward cultural fusion and sonic exploration. He weaves in other genres as fusions, reflecting the diversity of cultures and sounds he draws from. His signature lives in melodic instruments layered over bass, synth, and exotic deep drums. Low frequencies you feel before you hear them.
He has played sets in Portugal and Romania, where the energy varied from deep, emotional, and satisfactory to high, inviting, and relentless. Cultures, histories, and communities moving through sound. Never predictable, full of detail.
Music production is next. Original music, sound design, and sonic branding are where this is heading. The project is young and building fast.
