I got into electronic music when I was still in elementary school. At the time, I was going through a lot of things at home and school, and music became one of the things that helped me get through it.
I still remember watching Breakout one night and hearing Avicii’s - The Nights for the first time. I didn’t really understand EDM back then, but I remember thinking, “anjir, musik apaan ini?” From that moment, I started getting curious about electronic music and the people behind it.
I began looking up different artists, discovering new songs, and eventually wondering how all of these sounds were actually made. That curiosity led me to FL Studio and music production. I spent a lot of time experimenting, making random tracks, and even trying to remix a song during high school. Most of those projects never saw the light of day, but I kept coming back to making music whenever I had the chance.
The idea of becoming a DJ was always somewhere in the back of my mind. I wanted to make my own music and eventually perform it myself, inspired by artists like Avicii, Hardwell, Skrillex, and many others who showed me how powerful electronic music could be in a live setting.
It took a while before I could actually start. I only began seriously learning how to DJ about four months ago, after finally being able to get my own setup. Since then, I've been spending my time learning, practicing, and slowly getting comfortable behind the decks. I've also started taking on small gigs and getting my first real experiences playing for an audience.
Right now, I'm still at the beginning of that journey. I'm still learning how to DJ, still exploring different sounds, and still hoping to get back into producing my own music. For me, DJing isn't the final destination. It's one of the steps toward the thing I've wanted to do since I was a kid: make music that means something to me, and someday be able to play it for other people.
