Poetic Note

Evolving from DIY spaces and refined through her work with Kinetic Audio [NC], her approach to the dancefloor remains both intuitive and logical. Based in Durham, North Carolina, Poetic Note has become a steady and influential presence in the region’s techno and experimental scene. Influenced by 90’s grunge and a punk mindset, her sound creates a fantasy world blending hypnotic low-end, distorted grooves, and driving rhythms. Rather than chasing speed or spectacle, she trusts the rooms energy and atmosphere, allowing her sets to unfold with depth and intention. Having shared lineups with Boston 168, BRALLE, and KLOUD, she’s known for shaping the dance floor into a space of introspection. As founder of Sad Muse Club, a platform that demands space and highlights women [queer, non-binary, trans, and cis], she pushes left-field dance music and expanding the possibilities of her local scene. Beyond the club, she hosts a monthly show on DanceGruv Radio, expanding her reach, carrying her sound worldwide. At the same time, her focus reaches far beyond her local roots, she’s continually seeking out spaces where her sound and energy can fully resonate and expand.
