Paul Nicholas Fisher, professionally known as FISHER, is a celebrated Australian DJ, producer, and remixer specializing in electronic music. Born on November 5, 1986, in Gold Coast, Queensland, Fisher began his career as a professional surfer on the World Qualifying Series. His transition into music started while traveling the surf circuit, initially as part of the DJ duo Cut Snake with fellow surfer Leigh "Sedz" Sedley. Fisher launched his solo career under the name FISHER, releasing his debut single "Ya Kidding" in June 2017, followed by the "Oi Oi" EP in November, featuring tracks like "Stop It" and "Ya Didn’t." His breakthrough came in 2018 with "Losing It," which topped Australia’s ARIA Club Tracks chart and reached number one on the U.S. Dance Club Songs chart. The track earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording and an ARIA Award nomination for Best Dance Release, while also securing the second spot in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2018. In 2019, Fisher released "You Little Beauty," which also hit number one on the U.S. Dance Club Songs chart. The year 2020 saw the release of his "Freaks" EP, including the hit "Wanna Go Dancin’." In 2022, he showcased his remixing skills with "World, Hold On (Fisher rework)," a fresh take on Bob Sinclar’s 2006 classic. In 2023, Fisher continued his streak with the singles "Take it off" and "Atmosphere." Fisher is renowned for his energetic and infectious house and tech house sound, characterized by vibrant rhythms and crowd-pleasing melodies.
