Oberian

BIO

Oberian is a DJ from Cyprus, a resident at Velvet Void, whose sound sits in the darker, hypnotic side of techno.

After starting out with hard techno, he gradually moved towards a more personal approach to music, becoming increasingly interested in the details behind a set: the groove, the atmosphere, the way a track changes the feeling of a room.

His selections lean into deep rhythms, dark textures and hypnotic repetition, with an emphasis on letting the music develop rather than rushing towards a payoff.

The name Oberian takes inspiration from Oberon, the king of the fairies in mythology. It reflects an attraction to the mysterious and the almost magical — things that can be felt without being fully understood.

Still developing his sound, Oberian approaches each set as an opportunity to explore that feeling through music.
