I am Naya, a self-taught Moroccan artist, author and performer. My artistic journey began through writing in 2013, before gradually transforming into a more structured. From my first experiments to my published projects, I have built my universe independently, constantly seeking to understand how to transform human experiences, emotions and questions of my generation in music. My work is deliberately at the border of several universes. Rap, R&B;, pop and improvisation are for me less categories than tools of expression. I work also in Darija, French and English. This linguistic plurality corresponds to my way of Thinking about music: as a space where different identities, influences and sensibilities can come together meet. Today, after several years devoted to writing, experimenting and disseminating my works, I want to take a new step. My goal is no longer just to produce and produce publish music independently, but to deepen artistic research, to develop new collaborations and build a project capable of circulating between Morocco, Europe and other cultural spaces. For me, the residency represents the time and the environment necessary to take a step back from my to experiment and give a more complete form to this new phase of creation
