Mochakk

Mochakk is the artist project of Pedro Maia, a Brazilian DJ and producer born on 21 September 1999 in Sorocaba, São Paulo. Raised in a music-filled home — his mother a fan of funk and disco, his father of rock and blues — he started making hip-hop beats at age 13 and began DJing in São Paulo at 15, before dropping out of fashion school to fully commit to music production. His international breakthrough came in early 2022, when a viral TikTok video of his dance moves behind the decks racked up 1.3 million likes overnight. That same year he made his debut at DC-10 in Ibiza with Circoloco, launched his first label MOTRAXX, and began releasing on iconic imprints including Nervous Records, Defected, Circoloco Records and Cuttin' Headz. His 2023 single "Jealous", sampling Loleatta Holloway's 1977 classic "Dreamin'", was hailed by Billboard and EDM.com as a defining moment in his sound. In 2024 he was ranked #61 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs, opened his own 600-capacity nightclub OBLIQO in Sorocaba — a cultural space honoring Brazilian electronic music history — and headlined Coachella, Time Warp, Primavera Sound, Sónar, Kappa FuturFestival and Cercle. In 2025 he was named Beatport Artist of the Month and launched his self-curated Mochakk Calling Festival in Malta. His mentors and collaborators include Seth Troxler, Pete Tong, The Martinez Brothers and Chris Lake.
