Full bio

Mladen Solomun, known worldwide simply as Solomun, has played a pivotal role in redefining modern European house and techno music. Born in Travnik (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and raised in Hamburg (Germany), he discovered his passion for film and music at an early age. Before becoming the electronic music titan he is today, he worked in film production, an experience that undoubtedly influenced his ability to tell stories and create deeply emotional narrative arcs in his DJ sets.

In 2006, Solomun founded the influential record label Diynamic Music with his partner Adriano Trolio. The label quickly became a springboard for emerging artists and established the "Hamburg sound": an approach to house and techno with plenty of groove, immersive basslines and an undeniable melodic sensibility. Through Diynamic and its sub-label 2DIY4, Solomun led a movement that brought soul and emotion back to the dance floors, moving away from the colder minimalism that dominated the scene in those years.

His rise to global stardom was cemented in 2012, the year in which he was crowned "DJ of the Year" by Mixmag. Shortly after, he opened his mythical residency "Solomun +1" at Pacha Ibiza. The concept was boldly simple yet revolutionary: instead of cluttered posters, Solomun invited only one special artist each night, allowing both to play extended sets before capping off the evening with a tremendous back-to-back. This residency not only transformed the dynamics of parties in Ibiza, but also became one of the most successful and consecrated nights on the white island.

As a producer and remixer, Solomun has left an indelible mark. He has reimagined tracks from music giants ranging from Foals and Editors to Interpol, Depeche Mode and Jamiroquai. In 2021, he released his long-awaited second studio album, "Nobody Is Not Loved", a body of work that explores a wide range of genres (from synth-pop to post-punk and techno) and includes collaborations with artists such as Jamie Foxx and Planningtorock.

What really sets Solomun apart is his charisma and unmatched ability to read the track. Whether it's in front of tens of thousands of people at Tomorrowland, at their legendary and viral Boiler Room set in Tulum, or paying homage to the underground scene, their performances are immersive journeys. Solomun demonstrates, in each set, that music is a universal language designed to unite us.
