Luis Emmanuel Rivera Aguirre, better known as DJ Manny or simply Manny, is an Open Format DJ and emerging producer who has built his style from a life surrounded by music. From a very young age, influenced by his family, he had contact with genres that marked his day to day: salsa, cumbia, ska, rock in Spanish, reggaeton, pop and electronica. That diversity resulted in the versatility that characterizes their blends today.
Originally from the south of Mexico City, in a neighborhood at the foot of Cerro del Judío, Manny grew up surrounded by lights, speakers, turntables and nights of music and dance. Since he was a child he showed curiosity for instruments, especially percussion, developing a taste for vibrations and deep basses. Although his first approaches were with musical instruments, he always knew that what he was really passionate about was DJing. Since he was a child he played at being a professional, and over time he turned that dream into reality, teaching himself to handle turntables and controllers.
His first steps in music production were with FL Studio and YouTube tutorials, creating demos inspired by electronics and EDM, genres that were booming at the time. Among his references are David Guetta, Tiësto, Dash Berlin, Skrillex, Diplo, Don Diablo, Steve Aoki and Avicii.
Later he delved into urban genres, especially reggaeton, by participating in events in his high school, where he discovered that this was the world to which he belonged, from the first he began to delve into the genre meeting new idols and producers who marked his path such as: Luny Tunes & Noriega, Nesty "La Mente Maestra", Nely "El Arma Secreta", DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz and Tainy. These influences cemented his artistic vision and propelled him to create fresh and bold blends that define his style today.
During his university years he organized events and night gigs, which allowed him to make the leap to clubs and clubs in Mexico City. He has played in places such as Mezontle Pedregal, Reiven, Nuevayol and Jaibol, in addition to collaborating with producers of urban events in the south of the city. With more than 50 presentations, he has shared the stage and opened shows for artists from the national and international urban scene such as El Malilla, El Bogueto, Dimelo Cori, Uzielito Mix, Cachirula y Loojan, Yeyo, Doony Graff, Floyy Menor, Omar Camacho and Jimmy Guzmán, among others.
