Full bio

Lowbass DJy is a South African DJ, music producer, and performing artist from Limpopo, currently based in Kagiso, Krugersdorp.

Raised within Tsonga cultural traditions, his sound is deeply influenced by African rhythm and traditional percussion. Before becoming a producer, he started as a drummer — a foundation that defines his production style today. This gives his music a strong rhythmic identity, with heavy focus on percussion, groove, and bass-driven structures.

He produces within the Sgidongo and underground Amapiano space, developing a distinct sound direction that blends tribal rhythm, deep bass, and minimal but energetic arrangements designed for club and live DJ environments.

Lowbass DJy is also associated with the development of a sub-style known as Bambo, co-created in 2025 with Theo Da Soul. Bambo is a raw, rhythm-focused evolution of Sgidongo, built on stripped-down African percussion, deep low-end pressure, and experimental structure. The goal of this direction is to create a sound that is instantly recognizable and rooted in African identity.

His music catalog includes releases such as Xakapa (2026) featuring HouseXcape and DJ Njabsta, Sgidongo Hall Of Fame, Gear 7, Bambo Tech, Kingdom, and Abezeee with CowBoii.

Lowbass DJy performs as a DJ at local events, club nights, and underground music showcases, where he presents original productions and unreleased material in live sets.

His music is available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, SoundCloud, and Amazon Music under the name “Lowbass DJy.”

He is currently focused on building his international presence through performances, collaborations, and continued development of his signature sound within the South African underground music scene.
