Julika is an artist, producer and DJ of Cuenca blood who is building a project where music, identity and scene meet. Since she began her artistic career in 2023, she has developed a proposal marked by character, depth and a very personal sensitivity, turning her own experiences into a form of expression with which she seeks that other people can recognize themselves, feel accompanied and, above all, feel stronger.
For Julika, making music is a way to heal herself. It is his way of bringing out what hurts, what bothers him and everything that is sometimes difficult to explain in words. Their songs are born from an intimate place, but they do not intend to stop there: one of the fundamental parts of their project is to ensure that an emotion of their own can become a shared experience. That someone listens to a song of yours and thinks that you are not alone, that someone has felt the same or that you even find in it a reason to empower yourself.
That way of understanding music also defines his artistic personality. Julika combines depth and character, vulnerability and attitude, sensitivity and sass. She herself sums it up as being **"cool but tender"**: an identity in which she can be emotional without losing strength and talk about her feelings without giving up her personality. That duality is present both in his songs and in his way of moving within the scene.
After her first releases, **"Violento"** and **"Las Rules"**, Julika presented *LKQMHXT*, her first full-length work and the densest project of her first artistic stage. The album was a turning point in the construction of his musical identity, bringing together songs such as **"dime donde estás"**, **"ya no sé"** and **"donde va"**, where he delves into his most emotional and intimate side. To this universe are added singles such as **"POKET"**, **"TOYAKOS"**, **"SOLO PARA MI"** and **"SCARLET JOHANSON"**, which show the evolution of her sound and the different facets of her artistic personality.
Beyond the titles and songs, what runs through Julika's project is a clear intention: not to hide what she feels. Their music is based on real experiences and a need to express themselves without filters, but leaves enough space for each person to take their own story. In that sense, her songs work as a kind of mirror: they talk about her, but they can also end up talking about who listens to them.
The Cuenca identity is another of the fundamental pieces of his project. Julika is from Cuenca and carries her roots with her as part of her way of understanding music and culture. He doesn't want to forget his history or where he comes from, and that connection with his city has become something much bigger than a biographical fact: it has also influenced his way of relating to the scene and his desire to create spaces for other proposals to grow.
Because Julika doesn't understand music only from the stage. His career is also linked to the creation of community and the development of the underground scene in Cuenca. As an artist, producer and DJ, she has been occupying different spaces within urban culture and, at the same time, generating new ones.
In her role as a DJ, Julika brings to the dance floor a proposal that moves between **malianteo and dirty perreo**. A selection full of attitude, sensuality and energy that she herself defines as **"the music of the dirty"**. Their sessions are part of their own universe in which the night, dance and personality have as much weight as music.
This identity is also materialized in **Nasty Hoe**, the party he founds with **Melatoninazzz**. Nasty Hoe was born as a space of malianteo and represents a natural extension of the energy that Julika brings to her sessions: a night designed to dance, uninhibition, enjoy and vindicate a certain way of living urban culture from attitude and freedom.
But his work on stage does not end there. Along with **Cene 0**, Julika is also the founder of **Bullion**, a showcase platform focused on local artists. Bullion arises with a different but complementary intention: to create a space where Cuenca's talent can be shown, meet and grow. Faced with a scene that often needs to generate its own opportunities, Bullion works as a meeting point for emerging artists and proposals.
Nasty Hoe and Bullion represent two sides of the same vision. On the one hand, the party, the malianteo, the perreo and the energy of the night. On the other, the showcase, the discovery of new artists and the creation of opportunities within the local scene. In both cases, Julika is not limited to participating in what already exists: she is part of those who are creating new spaces.
That role has made his figure increasingly linked to the growth of the Cuenca underground scene. Julika belongs to a generation of artists who are pushing the boundaries of what can happen culturally in a city like Cuenca, and they do so on different fronts: publishing their own music, DJing, producing, organizing parties and creating platforms for other artists.
His philosophy could be summed up in a very simple idea: **don't wait for someone to open a door**. If the space you need doesn't exist, Julika helps create it. And, once created, make sure that other people can also enter.
That attitude of **"bossbitch"** is part of his identity. Julika is not looking to hide her ambition or soften her personality to fit in. His position on stage is born precisely from assuming character as a tool and using it to defend his own way of doing things. But that security coexists with a deeply sensitive part, which is precisely what feeds his songs.
Live, this duality also makes sense. Her presence combines the energy of an artist who knows how to occupy the stage with the closeness of someone who is telling stories that she has really lived. One of his milestones has been being part of the line-up of **Aloha in Cuenca**, sharing the stage with artists such as **Raúl Clyde**, an experience that reflects the growth of a project that began just a few years earlier.
"Cool but tender" is not only a description of personality, but a way of understanding her proposal. Julika can speak from a wound and, at the same time, do so with attitude. It can turn a painful experience into a song that invites you to dance. He can go from the intimacy of his lyrics to the energy of a malianteo track. You can create from the personal and, at the same time, build community.
Musically, that breadth allows him to move between different spaces without feeling the need to fit into a single label. Her facet as a singer coexists with her work as a DJ and producer, and her collective projects expand that universe even more. Julika's music isn't limited to one format: it can be in headphones, on stage, in a booth, or at a party.
His identity as a DJ finds precisely in the concept of **"the music of the dirty"** one of his most recognizable expressions. It is a way of understanding the night from self-confidence, the desire to dance and the absence of complexes. An energy that connects directly with Nasty Hoe and that allows his artistic personality to transcend the songs and also become an experience.
With Bullion, on the other hand, a more communal dimension appears. The platform was born from the need to generate opportunities for local artists and to claim that in Cuenca there is also talent, proposals and desire to create. Instead of waiting for the scene to arrive from the outside, Bullion is committed to looking inward and highlighting what is already happening in the city.
Julika is still writing her story. Her project began in 2023 and continues to grow, exploring new ways of making music and engaging with audiences. But there are elements that remain constant: the need to heal.
And if there is one thing that defines his way of moving forward, it is precisely that: never forgetting where he comes from while building where he wants to go. Julika doesn't wait for a place to be made. She does it to him.
