Kuljeet is a London-based DJ whose sound is shaped by a lifelong connection to UK club culture. Eclectic yet cohesive, her sets blend deep, hypnotic, groove-led house, disco-infused sounds and global influences, balancing musical exploration with rhythm, atmosphere and flow. Growing up in London before spending several years in Manchester in the early 1990s, Kuljeet experienced first-hand the evolution of UK dance music. Nights at venues such as PSV and The Hacienda sparked her early connection to house music and club culture. Returning to London in the mid-1990s, she immersed herself in the city’s influential drum and bass scene, becoming a regular at the Blue Note and attending nights including Metalheadz and Anokha. These experiences shaped the broad musical perspective that continues to inform her DJing today. Behind the decks, Kuljeet is drawn to the art of taking listeners on a journey. Moving beyond genre boundaries and predictable structures, she creates sets that evolve naturally, shifting in energy and weaving together unexpected sounds while maintaining a cohesive groove. Her approach centres on musical storytelling, balancing considered selections with spontaneity. This ethos underpins Studio 17, the monthly club night she co-founded at Mothers Ruin, E17. Bringing together house, disco edits and global sounds, Studio 17 celebrates musical diversity and creates an inclusive, community-focused space where different sounds and people meet through dance. Alongside developing Studio 17, Kuljeet is building her presence across London’s underground club scene. Recent appearances include a deeper house set for the Did Someone Say showcase, alongside performances at the London Craft Beer Festival, Flirrrt — a women-only night in South London — and a private event at Street Studios E8, a fashion and photography studio. Looking ahead, Kuljeet continues to develop her deeper, underground house sound for club settings while exploring the eclectic selections that define her approach across festivals, parties and wider club spaces. Connected by groove, curiosity and a love of the dancefloor, her aim is to create sets that feel both considered and spontaneous, bringing people together through shared musical experiences.
