Biography

My name is Ioan Adams. I grew up in Torfaen, South Wales—originally in Pontypool, then later in Cwmbrân, which is where I first started making music. The local scene here has played a big role in shaping my sound. I’m planning to move to Swansea in September to keep developing as an artist. I started DJing around this time last year, originally spinning drum and bass before gradually finding my sound in UK dubstep and garage. At the beginning of this year, I began producing my own music, kicking things off with a garage bootleg remix of Leon the Professional by Knucks. From there, I put together my debut EP, When It Was New, which focused on dark, heavy dubstep textures. I’ve since started experimenting with other styles like breakbeat and garage, producing tracks such as doYouthink, as well as a handful of DnB tracks including LOSER, Cabot, and Veil of Thornes. Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into garage, and my most recent release Everybody Tells You is out this month on NoSync. Records. I'm constantly evolving my sound, always looking for new ways to blend genres and keep things fresh. My music is influenced by a range of artists including Overmono, another Welsh act, as well as MPH, Simula, and Annix. Their diverse styles—spanning garage, dubstep, and DnB—all play a part in shaping my unique sound.
