A native of Asunción, Violeta Acuña is an interdisciplinary performing artist and DJ whose initiatory musical journey traces on a map from Asunción to the Caribbean. His ear training began at an early age, tuning his ear in a constant fusion between pop, hip-hop and cumbia variants, until he found in DJing his point of no return with his first sets that transited between salsa, son and classic genres of Central America, reaching tribal sounds with touches of electrocumbia, Latin House and Tropipop.
From his travels to Berlin and his homeland, he became contaminated by the underground techno scene, opening up to a fluid and joyful exploration towards house and its aspects, tech-house, r'n'b breaks and raw, hypnotic, driving and tribal techno and other syncretic moods, driven by groove and an enthusiastic and carefree expansive energy.
Their current exploration is a fusion of industrial beats and percussions, dub, dubstep and 90s synth-house, always preserving the tribal pulse of their beginnings. Under the alias Guarani Nomad, he describes his wandering and restless identity; while ChiCha, his nickname for techno, pays homage to the ancestral Ectal drink of the native peoples of America, made from corn – the food that unites the continent from north to south.
