Gongsta

🎧 Who is Gongsta? 🎶

Many of you know me as a friend, relative, coworker… but you probably don’t know who “Gongsta” is or why he exists.

🏷️ The Origin of the Name

My full name is GONçalo GomeS TeixeirA – “Gongsta” is a shortened version of it.

🎶 Why Now?

Music has been part of my life since I was a kid. My first Walkman came on my 8th birthday, and by 14, I had my first Discman.

Between those, I explored music from all over the world – especially Portuguese, Brazilian, and African sounds. Back then, YouTube and Spotify didn’t exist, and illegal downloads were the way to go (thanks to eMule, Limewire & friends! 😂).

Slowly, dance music took over. No lyrics, just pure melody. One of the first tracks that hit me? Yomanda – Synth & Strings.

Then came the legends: 🎵 Tiesto – Lethal Industry, Traffic 🎵 Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold

I grew up witnessing the EDM explosion – the rise of: 🔥 David Guetta, Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso (even before SHM!), Laidback Luke, Bob Sinclar…

I remember the pure joy of dancing freely in my bedroom or just headbanging on public transport while going to school.

🎸 The Game-Changer Moment

During university, I joined a “Tuna” (Google it! 😉). That changed everything. Not only did it expand my musical skills (I played guitar before, but this boosted me), but it also introduced me to: ❤️ The love of my life 👬 Friends who changed my life forever

🌟 Why Am I Doing This?

The dream was always there, but life priorities (degree, work, family) took over. Now, the time has come to finally chase my passion.

🎶 I’ll keep making music as long as it makes me happy – and if I can bring happiness to others, even better.

And you know what? I’ve never been happier. 🚀🎧
