Gijs Verlaan is a 21-year-old DJ from Amsterdam, known for his energetic hardhouse sets infused with uplifting piano melodies and strong 90s influences. In just two years, he has quickly developed a distinct sound that blends nostalgic rave elements with a fresh, modern edge, creating sets that are both emotionally driven and highly danceable. Deeply embedded in the local music scene, Gijs is not only focused on performing but also on building a long-term career within the industry. He is currently interning at Loveland, one of the Netherlands’ leading event organizations, where he gains valuable insight into the professional side of events, expands his network, and continues to grow as an artist. His performance experience already includes notable appearances at events such as Hintergarten, where he opened for artists like Kellar, S3ppa, Aprd, Superstrings, and Cynthia Spierings. He has also played at the talent stage of Happy Feelings at Thuishaven, sharing the lineup with Kara Okay, Dart, and Morgan Seatree. These opportunities have helped him refine his technical skills and develop a strong sense for reading and connecting with a crowd.
