Full bio

GCode Maniac is a Madrid-based electro DJ and live performer focused on vinyl culture, machine-driven grooves, and rhythm-forward electronic music. Currently working between DJ sets and modular synthesis, he is developing a live performance format built around Eurorack modules, combining analog sound design, improvisation, and raw electro aesthetics. He is part of the Iridium Collective and the Collision Control project, and is also the founder of GCode Modules, a Eurorack module design and manufacturing initiative born from the intersection of engineering and electronic music.

His artistic identity is strongly shaped by rhythm and physical interaction with sound. Whether through vinyl mixing or modular performance, his approach prioritizes movement, texture, and interpretation over purely digital workflows. After years of DJing with controllers and software, he transitioned to vinyl at the end of 2020 in search of a more direct and expressive connection with music. That shift marked a turning point, leading him deeper into electro and its wide rhythmic vocabulary, where his background as a percussionist found its natural place.

Before fully immersing himself in electronic music, GCode Maniac trained as a classical percussionist and studied at the Conservatory of Bilbao, specializing in orchestral percussion and vibraphone. During that period, he performed with symphony orchestras and developed a strong appreciation for classical music, while his early discovery of jazz left a lasting mark on his musical sensibility. The vibraphone, one of his main instruments, became an important bridge between jazz harmony and percussive expression.

His interest in electronic music began around the age of eighteen through the minimal scene, influenced by artists such as Gaiser and Marc Houle, as well as the sound and aesthetics of Minus. Over time, those influences evolved toward electro, where complex drum programming, syncopation, and machine funk resonated more deeply with his musical background.

The name GCode Maniac reflects his parallel career as a manufacturing engineer. G-code — the programming language used to control CNC lathes and milling machines — became the perfect metaphor for an artist inspired by precision, machinery, and controlled motion. That dual identity between engineer and musician continues to define both his sound and his creative vision.

“Let my GCodes move your machine.”
