EMIR

Emir is a DJ and selector from Mexico City, currently based in Madrid. His connection to music started early through disco, not as a trend, but as the sound that first made him really feel something. The groove, soul, and energy of those records still influence the way he approaches every set today. Growing up around an uncle who’s been DJing for more than 20 years, music was always part of his everyday life. Over time, artists like Mita Gami, Adam Ten, Dixon, Jimi Jules, and &ME helped shape his taste and style. He’s especially drawn to warm, groove-focused sounds and labels like Maccabi House that blend emotion, rhythm, and atmosphere naturally. Starting out in Switzerland two years ago, Emir went from throwing his own events to becoming a trusted DJ on local lineups. His sound moves between disco, indie dance, melodic house, progressive, organic house, deep house, and Afro-inspired rhythms, always centered around groove and connection on the dancefloor. For Emir, it’s less about playing tracks and more about creating a feeling and a memory throughout the night. Since moving to Madrid, he’s continued building his place within the local scene, including playing three times at Houdini. What matters most to him is seeing people genuinely connect with the music, losing themselves in the moment, dancing together, and sharing the same energy.
