Full bio

Javier Muleiro, known as DPM Javi, is a Berlin-based DJ and producer whose sound moves through deep techno and minimal, with shades of acid, UK bass textures, and a 90s–early 2000s tech house sensibility—balancing groove, atmosphere, and emotional depth. He began producing and performing music at 14 years old, starting with rap while growing up on the East Coast of the United States, where that culture was an integral part of his upbringing. Towards the end of high school and into his early college years, his sound shifted into a more indie pop and melodic direction—blending vocals, songwriting, and early electronic influences.

A turning point came during a year abroad in London, where he fell deeply in love with electronic music and rave culture. It felt both new and familiar—his father, who lived in Ibiza in the 90s, had already planted those seeds early on, playing artists like Tiësto, deadmau5, and Moby whenever they were in the car together, alongside stacks of recorded club mixes on CD—early imprints that would resurface years later.

After returning from London, he released a project blending house music with his own vocals—some tracks leaning more rap, others more melodic, but all grounded in electronic structure. In his final year of college in New Orleans, he began playing his first DJ sets—mostly house-focused, shaped by the environments he was in: house parties, underground locations, and college spaces. Following graduation, he moved to New York City and released Magenta 37, a darker, UK garage-influenced project that stripped away vocals and focused purely on electronic production. That period deepened his connection to UK textures—bass-driven, dubby, and atmospheric—which continue to inform his sound today. While in NYC, he became active in the underground circuit, playing across DIY venues, rooftops, and clubs such as Bossa Nova Civic Club, SILO Brooklyn, Eris Evolution, and Rash.

Still drawn to Europe and its deeper relationship to electronic music—and with Spanish roots that had long pulled him back—he relocated to Berlin. The move was both artistic and personal: a return to a side of his identity he hadn’t fully explored, and a way to be closer to family while immersing himself in a culture that deeply values the sounds and textures he had grown to love. Starting from zero, rebuilding his network, and adapting to a new scene, he spent long nights in industrial club spaces, absorbing the textures and sound waves as they bounced off sleek concrete walls and back into his ears—refining a more focused and personal sonic identity in the process.

Since arriving, he has made a conscious shift toward production—stepping back from frequent DJing to focus on refining his sound and completing a body of work. His upcoming project XPRESSION CONTROL, set for release in May, marks a new chapter, while his label Unlimited Euphoria, co-founded with longtime collaborator Vern, will release its first-ever project in July 2026—accompanied by a limited vinyl run as a physical extension of the release. Alongside this, DJing remains a central part of his expression—particularly through vinyl, which he has embraced as a more tactile and intentional approach to performance. Since relocating to Berlin, he has performed a digital set at KINK Bar & Restaurant’s Silvester Party and a recent all-vinyl performance with Drips Collective at Studio DB. His sets move fluidly between deep techno, minimal, acid-tinged grooves, and 90s–early 2000s-informed tech house, always prioritizing flow, texture, and immersion.

Now based in Berlin, DPM Javi continues to refine a sound rooted in texture, space, and feeling—drawing from US, UK, and European influences while moving deeper into his own lane.
