Full bio

DJ Foreve (Evelyn Gómez) is a Mexico City–based DJ, sonidera, selector, and beatmaker whose work lives at the intersection of Latin roots, electronic music, and community-driven dance culture. With over a decade of experience in the creative and cultural industries, she brings a curatorial sensitivity to the dance floor, transforming each set into a vibrant narrative of rhythm, identity, and connection.

Her sound is a dynamic fusion of genres, blending cumbia, cumbiatón, salsa, merengue, reggaetón, afro house, and tribal with electronic textures and global influences. Shaped by her travels and her deep engagement with diasporic sounds, DJ Foreve’s musical proposal is both grounded in tradition and forward-thinking. She explores the richness of Latin American and Afro-descendant rhythms while reinterpreting them through a contemporary, club-oriented lens.

Guided by her motto, “The tropic you didn’t know you needed,” DJ Foreve crafts immersive sonic experiences that invite audiences into a world where nostalgia meets innovation. Her sets are known for their versatility, emotional range, and high energy—seamlessly moving between genres, tempos, and atmospheres while maintaining a cohesive and unmistakable identity.

Rooted in Mexico City’s sonidero culture, her practice connects with a powerful tradition of street parties and community gatherings where DJs—known as sonideros—play cumbia and other tropical genres, often interacting live with the crowd through shout-outs and dedications. This movement, deeply embedded in working-class neighborhoods, is not only about music but about identity, celebration, and collective belonging. DJ Foreve brings this spirit into contemporary spaces, bridging underground heritage with global club culture.

She has performed at a wide range of venues, festivals, and cultural spaces, including iconic locations such as Salón Los Ángeles and Cabaret Barbazul, as well as massive public gatherings like the International Women’s Day march. Her work extends beyond nightlife into spaces of collective expression and social engagement, where music becomes a tool for visibility, celebration, and resistance.

DJ Foreve is a resident DJ for La Negra Mexa and Las Cumbiancheras, platforms that celebrate Latinx and Afro-diasporic sounds while fostering inclusive dance spaces. She is also an active member of Red de Bailadores and Las Musas Sonideras, a collective of women DJs and sonideras dedicated to amplifying female presence within the historically male-dominated sonidero movement.

Her creative use of sampling and seamless genre fusion make each set a distinctive, high-energy journey designed to move bodies and connect communities on the dance floor.
