Biography

Alien – A Legend in Puerto Rico’s Electronic Underground Hailing from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Alien is a true pioneer of the island’s electronic music movement—an ambassador of underground culture with a career spanning over 30 years. Raised in a musically rich household, his early exposure to rhythm and sound gave him the solid foundation to shape his signature style. By the age of 13, he was already on the decks as a road DJ, later joining the team at Musique Xpress. At 19, Alien locked down a residency at the legendary Calypso Beach Club, one of the most iconic venues of its era. Within just a couple of years, he was playing massive outdoor events alongside Puerto Rico’s elite DJs and renowned international acts, carving his name into the history of the island’s rave and club culture. In 1999, Alien began producing his own music—pushing the boundaries of house, techno, breaks, and jungle. That same year, he teamed up with JudgeDnB to form Professional People, a local Drum & Bass crew known for dropping sets that were 70–90% original material. Later, DJ Armand joined the collective, and despite never releasing on a major label, Professional People achieved legendary underground status by consistently delivering fresh, cutting-edge music at every show. Around 2005, Alien’s solo journey accelerated with official remixes for local artists and releases across various labels. His versatility took him into the realms of Latin music, hip-hop, and reggaeton—collaborating with DJ Metro and producing tracks for Puerto Rican artist Jay Raw. These cross-genre collaborations gave Alien an expanded toolkit and refined edge, solidifying his place as one of the island’s most dynamic DJs and producers. In 2010, Alien reunited with Armand and linked up with Raul Barrera to launch Korrosive Crew—a dubstep collective that made serious waves in Puerto Rico’s club scene. Not long after, the crew evolved into a full-blown movement, reigniting the island’s Drum & Bass scene and eventually merging with QVLQV to spotlight both local legends and emerging talents alongside global heavyweights. Throughout his storied career, Alien has shared stages with some of the biggest names in electronic music: BCUK, DJ SS, Bryan G, Jumping Jack Frost, Liondub, Gridlok, Ed Rush & Optical, Crissy Criss, Teddy Killerz, Degs, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Evol Intent, Optiv, Vegas, DJ Predator, DJ Metro, K-oba, Gulembo, René LaVice, The Prototypes, Mob Tactics, Technical Itch, Craze, Mixmaster Morris, Codezero, Commix, TeeBee, LTJ Bukem, Klute, NC-17, TC, Random Movement, Mampi Swift, Benny L, Taxman, Makoto, DJ Rap, and countless others. Alien isn’t just part of Puerto Rico’s electronic music story—he helped write the first chapters, and he’s still turning the page.
