DAMNBONE

I'm Oscar Bohorquez, better known as DAMNBONE, a Mexican DJ originally from Mexico City. My project is based on versatility, connection with the audience and the creation of authentic experiences on the dance floor.

I started my journey in 2016 playing at private events such as school parties, weddings and family gatherings. From that moment on, I understood that adapting to different types of audiences was key to maintaining energy and ensuring that the party never stopped. That stage was fundamental to develop my identity as a DJ and understand that each event has its own essence.

During my early years, I polished my technique working with Reloop equipment using discs and later USB sticks without a sync function, along with a Behringer mixer with limitations in effects. These conditions forced me to develop precision, ear, and total control in my mixes, building a solid foundation that today defines my style.

In 2024 I decided to take my project to the next level by studying a career as a DJ and music producer at Bedroom. There I had my first approaches to more advanced equipment, which allowed me to expand my technical possibilities, improve my mixes and develop mashups with greater creativity. I also met a community of talented artists who, like me, were focused on evolving and growing within the scene. From that moment on, I began to have a greater presence in the nightlife of Mexico City. I did takeovers at Cincodoce. and I got residencies at downtown bars like Mr. Flooky in Plaza Madera and Terraza XX, where I'm part of the Sunset Party experience. These spaces have allowed me to connect with different audiences and continue to develop dynamic and adaptive sets.

I have also had the opportunity to play in venues such as Ajeno Bar, Levu Condesa, Bar Oriente, Reclusa and Nisha, among others. Each venue has taught me something different about the energy of the night and how each audience responds uniquely to the music.

For me, playing is not just mixing songs. It's telling stories. I think that on every set, in every place and in every context, things happen that can't be fully captured on social media. That real, spontaneous and unrepeatable connection is what motivates me the most and what I seek to convey in each presentation. My goal is to continue growing within the scene, always maintaining a fresh, versatile and authentic proposal. I seek that each set has an identity, that each transition has intention and that each experience leaves a mark on those who live it.
