THE STORY BEHIND THE MUSIC. Some artists begin with music. Carlus found music again when he needed it most. Born as Carlos Lopes, the Portuguese producer behind the Carlus project spent years building a successful career outside the music industry, leading commercial teams, helping people grow, and learning that life’s greatest challenges are rarely professional—they are deeply personal. Like many people, his path was far from linear. It was shaped by loss, career changes, self-doubt, injuries, unexpected setbacks, and moments when starting over felt impossible. Through every rise and every fall, one thing remained constant: music. What began as a childhood passion for electronic music eventually became something much more powerful. It became a way to process emotions that words couldn’t fully express. That transformation gave birth to Carlus. More than an artist name, Carlus represents a new chapter—a reminder that our identity isn’t defined by our lowest moments, but by our willingness to rebuild after them. His productions are inspired as much by movie soundtracks as they are by festival stages, combining cinematic storytelling with modern electronic music to create immersive experiences that resonate long after the final note. Has recently his first album with 7 original songs called “Rise, Fall, Rise again” inspired by his personal journey, blending progressive house, electro house and future bass. For Carlus, music is not an escape from reality. It is a way of understanding it. Every release is an invitation to anyone who has ever questioned themselves, lost their way, or wondered whether they were capable of starting again. Because every story has moments of triumph.
