BLACKEND — Official Biography

BLACKEND is a Colombian duo of DJs and producers made up of Esneider Cadavid and David Acosta, originally from Bello, Antioquia. Their musical proposal is characterized by the fusion of Psytrance and Hardstyle sounds, a combination that builds enveloping atmospheres, intense progressions and forceful drops, with the purpose of leading the public to experience electronic music from the euphoria, emotion and energy of dance.

The story of BLACKEND begins between 2012 and 2013, when Esneider and David meet in Bello through mutual friends. At that time, they both independently discover electronic music through Tomorrowland broadcasts, without imagining that they shared the same passion. Motivated by the sounds they heard, they begin to experiment empirically with VirtualDJ, learning to mix and develop their skills on their own. Discovering their common interest, they begin to exchange music, analyze structures and perfect their techniques, taking the first steps of an artistic connection that would evolve over the years.

By 2014, both had developed a solid mixing technique and began to explore the sounds that were gaining strength in the local scene. During the next four years they became known as independent artists, performing at events in Bello and its surroundings with proposals close to Tribal House and other electronic sounds of the emerging scene. This stage allowed them to build local recognition, gain experience in front of the public and understand the dynamics of live events. In parallel, David strengthened his knowledge through his training as a DJ technician and producer at the EAS, School of Audio and Sound, while Esneider continued to develop his skills in a self-taught way.

Between 2015 and 2016, his musical paths began to explore new directions. David became increasingly attracted to Psytrance, while Esneider delved into Hardstyle and Hardcore. Although their preferences evolved differently, both currents shared elements that would later become the sonic foundation of BLACKEND.

Around 2018, the changes in the music scene and their interest in recovering sounds from international electronic music led them to explore genres such as the Big Room again. That same year, their attendance at Viva Fest, in Medellín, where Steve Aoki, one of their shared references, performed marked a decisive point. The experience reaffirmed an ambition that both had been considering since 2016 and 2017: to join their paths under the same project and reach large-format stages performing the music that they were really passionate about.

After that event, they began to seriously define the identity of the duo. After exploring different names, they found in BLACKEND a representation of their history and their bond. The name comes from the word Black, in reference to their skin tones; the letter E represents Esneider, the N corresponds to the English conjunction and the D identifies David. Thus, in 2018, the concept of a shared artistic identity was born, which, although it already had a name, logo and positioning ideas, was still in search of its definitive musical direction.

During this first stage, Esneider Cadavid and David Acosta also began to look for opportunities to take their talent to more far-reaching stages. In 2018 they participated in Storyland's DJ Contest, where they presented a set as part of their search for recognition within the electronic scene. The following year, in 2019, they participated in the DJ Contest at La Solar Festival, again through a set that represented their musical proposal and their skills behind the decks. These experiences marked part of their initial journey, strengthening their motivation to transcend local stages and make their way into events of greater projection.

In 2019, Esneider began exploring FL Studio and produced four Tribal House tracks that were released through the Love2Drums label. This period represented a first formal approach to music production and laid the groundwork for continuing to develop their own compositions. However, the duo's definitive identity was yet to be built.

It was in 2022 when BLACKEND found the path that would define their sound: combining the hypnotic and psychedelic energy of Psytrance with the rhythmic power and forcefulness of Hardstyle. From this exploration "Drumialla" was born, their first representative release of this fusion. The track begins by building an atmosphere marked by elements of Psytrance and progressively evolves towards a second drop of Hardstyle influence, creating a sound journey that reflects the essence of the project: increasing intensity, contrasts and a direct connection with the energy of rave.

In 2023, BLACKEND took this proposal to a new stage with the official release of "Drumialla". The opportunity came through Dreaming Records, a Bogotá label that organized the first edition of Rave Center, an event designed to promote emerging artists. BLACKEND participated in this edition and traveled to the Colombian capital in June 2023 to present their music live, taking an important step in the consolidation of their artistic identity and in their approach to new audiences.

From then on, the duo continued to expand their catalog with productions such as "Tuvan" and "It's Me", maintaining as a hallmark the encounter between the textures of Psytrance and the strength of Hardstyle. Their evolution has also led them to perform in bars, clubs and stages of greater scope, demonstrating a versatility that allows them to adapt to different contexts of electronic music, including Tech House sets and other styles.

In 2026, BLACKEND participated in Expobelleza, one of Medellín's outstanding events, expanding its experience on stage and reaffirming its ability to connect with diverse audiences. Currently, the project has seven tracks published and distributed internationally on streaming platforms, while it continues to work on new productions aimed at expanding its sound universe.

Beyond genres, BLACKEND seeks to convey emotions through music: to generate euphoria in the drops, create tension and expectation during breaks and provoke a physical and emotional connection with each kick and each bassline. Its intention is that the audience can disconnect from the routine, release their energy and feel fully alive through dance.

Inspired by artists such as Vini Vici, Sub Zero Project, Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Coone, Esneider Cadavid and David Acosta share a vision that transcends their origins: to take their sound to national and international stages and build a trajectory that brings them closer to world-renowned festivals such as EDC, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland and Defqon.1.

BLACKEND is the union of two musical paths that found their identity in contrast: Psytrance and Hardstyle, psychedelia and power, atmosphere and forcefulness. A project born in Bello, Colombia, that continues to evolve with a clear goal: to transform its music into an experience that is felt as much as it is heard.
