Bastian's World

Bastian's World is the artistic project of German-born producer, composer and sound engineer José A. Martos López, also known as BeatMaster JML, based in Granada, Spain.

Since 1994, José has explored electronic music and pushed the boundaries between genres. His journey began with a Commodore 64 and homemade samples, leading to his first project, UCM Communications. He later released music as a solo artist through Independencia Sonora and collaborated with artists including DJ Rap, Rapmonkeys and Martin "Youth" Glover, as well as musician Julian Sánchez on Fuga Spectra.

In 2018, he created Bastian's World as his most personal and experimental musical vision — a constantly evolving universe where techno trance, electropunk, big beat, hip-hop, electronica, synthwave, dubstep, electroindie and ambient sounds collide.

The project takes its name from Bastian, his beloved Yorkshire Terrier and a constant source of inspiration. Bastian's World released its self-titled debut album on vinyl through Magnoliadamasco, followed by Pop Culture in October 2025 — a frenetic journey through music history, reinterpreted through a contemporary electronic sound.

His influences range from The Prodigy, The KLF, Jean-Michel Jarre, The Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys, Pink Floyd, Moby, Orbital and DJ Rap to Paul van and Westbam.

Today, Bastian's World is returning to its roots, focusing on German techno trance while developing new material and exploring new directions in electronic music.
