"Banda La Asertiva" Banda La Asertiva is a group originally from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, which since 2018 has developed its own proposal within regional Mexican music. Under the direction of Luis Armando Soto Vázquez, the project was born with the intention of bringing together young and experienced musicians around the same vision: to interpret banda music with identity, versatility and a proposal capable of transcending the traditional limits of the genre. Throughout its history, La Asertiva has built a concept based on musical exploration. Although their roots are deeply linked to the Sinaloa tradition, the group has constantly sought new ways of interpreting songs and styles that originally belong to different aspects of regional Mexican. This concern for experimentation has become one of the main characteristics of the band. For La Asertiva, making banda music does not mean limiting oneself to a single style, but finding a way to bring different influences and sounds to the language of brass, drum and instruments that make up a Sinaloa band.
-The first steps From its beginnings, Banda La Asertiva found in Los Mochis the starting point to develop its identity. The city and the musical tradition of Sinaloa are an essential part of the personality of the project, but from its early stages there was also the intention of looking beyond the established. After its hiatus in 2020 and its resurgence in 2023, the assertive is preparing for its first record productions, including "Pa Todos Hay, Vol. 1", which represented a first formal approach to the group's work on digital platforms. More than completely defining their sound, this material meant the beginning of a stage of learning, experimentation and construction. As time went by, that search took shape. The band began to find new possibilities within regional Mexican and to develop a proposal in which different genres could coexist with the characteristic sound of a band.
2024: a year of consolidation 2024 represented an especially important year for Banda La Asertiva. During that period, the group strengthened its presence on stages, media and digital platforms, while at the same time it began to receive recognitions that supported the growth of the project. One of the most significant moments came with the fifth edition of the OWEN Artistic Awards, held at the Ingenio Theater in Los Mochis in November 2024. At that ceremony, Banda La Asertiva received recognition as "Sinaloa Revelation Band", an award that represented an important endorsement of their work within the local artistic scene. The recognition came at a stage in which the group was beginning to considerably expand its reach and consolidate its own proposal. For La Asertiva, being part of a ceremony dedicated to recognizing the artistic talent of the region also meant confirming that the work developed from Los Mochis was beginning to attract attention beyond its usual presentations. That same year, the group experienced one of the most special moments of its career when it traveled to Tijuana to participate in the birthday of Don Germán Lizárraga, one of the historical figures of Sinaloa banda music. The experience had a special meaning for the members of La Asertiva, not only because it shared a moment with a figure of the stature of Germán Lizárraga, but also because of the opportunity to talk with him, receive advice and show him part of the work they had been developing. The meeting represented a connection between generations of musicians and a significant experience within the growth of the group.
-2025: growth, stages and musical evolution 2025 was a year of growth and consolidation for Banda La Asertiva. The group took their music to important stages such as the Ahome Carnival in Topolobampo and the Festival de Mi Ciudad, where they performed in Plaza Solidaridad and in the Plazuela 27 de Septiembre during the Day of the Sinaloense Tambora. One of the highlights came at the 2025 Owen Artistic Awards, where La Asertiva shared the stage with Jerry Corrales, vocalist of Banda La Adictiva, performing "Ya solo eres mi ex", "Muéveme el pollo" and "El Sinaloense". Musically, the year also marked an important evolution with the release of new singles and live recordings that shaped "Sin Mirar Atrás", Among the 2025 releases are "Ya Fui Negro Ya Fui Blanco", "En Boca De Todos (En Vivo)" and "ESCÁPATE (En Vivo)", in addition to different performances recorded live. Finally, the EP "Sin Mirar Atrás" was released on November 28, 2025. This process was especially important because it consolidated one of the characteristics that distinguish La Asertiva: the exploration of different subgenres of regional Mexican and later transforming them through the banda sound. Thus, the stages of 2025 were not only spaces to present a repertoire; They also became places where the group tested new ideas, new interpretations and a musical proposal that increasingly sought to expand its possibilities. 2025 was, for Banda La Asertiva, a year of important stages, collaborations, growth and evolution, building a trajectory that allowed it to go from being an emerging proposal to consolidating itself as a group with its own identity within the regional scene of Sinaloa.
-2026: a new stage for Banda La Asertiva 2026 represents a stage of consolidation and evolution for Banda La Asertiva. After several years of building an identity within regional Mexican and exploring different ways to bring other subgenres to the banda sound, the group continues to expand its proposal and strengthen its presence on increasingly important stages. One of the central moments of the year was the release of "A partir de ahora", an unreleased song that opened a new facet for the group. The song, of a romantic nature, is based on a story of heartbreak and recovers the sentimental essence of the Sinaloa band, while betting on a contemporary production and a more mature interpretation. Another of the great moments of the year came with the participation of the group in the Festival de Mi Ciudad 2026, in Los Mochis. Banda La Asertiva opened the closing night of the festival before an audience of more than 10 thousand attendees, presenting a repertoire that included "Me llamas", "El Sinaloense", "El Sauce y la Palma", "Terrenal", "Se va muriendo mi alma" and their then recent release, "A partir de ahora". The presentation had a special meaning for the group, as it was one of the most important cultural events in their city of origin and a stage that allowed them to show a large audience the evolution that the project has undergone since its early years. Thus, 2026 marks a stage in which Banda La Asertiva stops looking only at the construction of its name and begins to consolidate more clearly what it wants to represent: a group from Los Mochis with Sinaloa roots, but with the restlessness and creative freedom necessary to explore new paths within regional Mexican. With new music, large venues and an increasingly defined proposal, La Asertiva continues to write a trajectory that began in 2018 and that today points towards new audiences, new productions and increasingly important stages. 2026 is, for Banda La Asertiva, a year of evolution, identity and new beginnings.
