Andoni Sanmamed Hurtado's (ASH) career in electronic music represents the authentic Yin and Yang of clubbing: an identity forged over a slow fire since he was a child, adding hours behind the decks and living the culture at the foot of the dance floor for more than a decade. Knowing the night from both sides on a constant basis is what allows him to connect directly with the club and manage the energy of the set with absolute precision. His origins are located in Ermua and in the iconic XaguaTechnoPub, the space where he took his first steps and to which he has returned as a resident DJ after its reopening to reactivate the local nightlife. Throughout his career, he has taken his sound to references of the northern circuit such as Sonora, Kremlin or Sala Raw, sharing the booth with artists such as Bedeben, Arana and Alaine MRK, as well as being an active part of the organization of the Elektrojaia collective.
Technically, ASH's hallmark in the booth is the uninterrupted and forceful mix: a flow where the songs constantly overlap and a solo track is never played. Inspired by the skill of 3 vinyls of references such as Basic Feelings and the compositional rigor of producers such as René Wise, its staging stands out for the dynamic use of 3 players.
Far from settling into his baggage, ASH maintains a continuous process of evolution in the studio. He currently cultivates an extensive catalogue of his own productions that he rigorously perfects, using them as exclusive tools to test live and outline what is consolidated as one of the proposals with the greatest projection of Basque underground techno.
