André Zapata

From Tumbes to Lima, we present André Zapata, an emerging Peruvian DJ whose musical proposal is born from exploration, versatility and a progressive way of understanding electronic music.

His sound moves mainly between Minimal/Deep Tech, Tech House and House, genres that he uses as a starting point to build dynamic and constantly evolving sessions. Rather than limiting himself to a certain formula, André enjoys going through different sounds and styles within electronic music, finding connections between them and adapting naturally to the energy of each moment.

One of the main characteristics of his proposal is the way he builds his sets. For André, a session is not only about stringing tracks together, but about developing a journey. He seeks to start subtly, establish the groove little by little and allow the energy to grow progressively until he finds the right moment to take the session to another level. Each track fulfills a function within that journey, seeking to maintain fluidity and coherence without losing the element of surprise.

Versatility also occupies an important place within his identity: he enjoys changing direction, exploring different genres and discovering new ways to connect sounds, always maintaining a musical line that gives meaning to the whole.

Among his main references are Luciano, Prunk, Paco Osuna and Traumer, artists who represent different facets of what André seeks to develop in his own proposal: groove, precision, the ability to build an atmosphere and, above all, the ability to make a set feel like a journey and not simply a succession of songs.

He recently completed his training as a DJ PRO at Project Media Music, a stage that allowed him to strengthen his technical knowledge and begin to shape his own identity behind the booth. He is currently in a stage of exploration and growth, discovering which sounds, structures and combinations best represent his musical vision.

As an emerging DJ, André seeks to build his way within the Peruvian electronic scene from an open perspective, without pigeonholing himself in a single genre and always maintaining the curiosity to discover new sounds. His goal is to develop over time an identity that can be recognized not only by the genres he plays, but by the way he selects, combines and develops each session.
